Having qualified as an Occupational Therapist and teacher, I have been teaching since 1994. My experience has been gained in mainstream primary and secondary schools, specialist settings and in the independent sector.
I have an MA Education (SEN) and an MSc Psychology, both of which have provided me with an invaluable bank of knowledge and experience. I hold a Post Graduate Certificate in Specific Learning Difficulties (Dyslexia) and an Assessment Practising Certificate (APC) accredited by the SpLD Assessment Standards Committee (SASC), Associate Membership of the British Dyslexia Association (AMBDA) and I am a PATOSS Practicing Member (PPM).
I hold a full enhanced DBS, professional insurance and a Data Protection Registration Certificate.
I currently work on the Wirral in the secondary age range as a Specialist Dyslexia Teacher, Assistant SENDCo and Access Arrangements Coordinator. This is in addition to my role in Diagnostic Assessments for Dyslexia and Irlen Screening.
In additional to my professional experience I also have personal and familial experience of dyslexia and neurodiversity. I believe this places me in a position to understand the processes involved in assessment and diagnosis from a professional and a parental viewpoint.
I am based on the Wirral but I am happy to travel throughout North West England and North Wales. Please enquire if you are based further afield.
